2PM & After School appear on Oricon Weekly Chart

Highly recognized Korean groups, 2PM and After School both landed in the top 10 of the vaunted Oricon’s weekly chart.

On August 23rd, according to Japan’s ‘Oricon‘, 2PM’s second single, ‘I’m your man‘ sold around 69,000 copies, which was good enough to place them 4th on the weekly charts. In addition, After School’s first single, ‘Bang‘, sold around 23,000 copies and proudly placed 7th on the chart.

This is a great result after both groups appeared on the Oricon daily chart.

Meanwhile SNSD’s first official Japanese studio album, ‘Girls’ Generation‘ is still going strong, even 12 weeks after it’s release. The album sold around 14,000 copies this week and in total, the album has sold more than 560,000 copies

2PM talks of animals they could resemble!

Animal look-a-likes of the members of 2PM will be revealed.

On the upcoming, “2PM Show”, the beast-idols were given time to think of what animals that they think most resembles themselves.

The boys of 2PM were also challenged to the Teamwork Audition in checking how much teamwork they have and saw how much understanding they have of each other.

To the question, “What animal resembles the members of the ‘beast-idol’, 2PM?”, the members went on to write their answers down. Junsu picked tiger as a character resemblance while “OKCat” Taecyeon picked a cat.

Banana Republic & CLASSY. present 2PM in LOVE with Satoko Koizumi

Clothing brand Banana Republic and Japanese female fashion magazine CLASSY. will be collaborating with Korean group, 2PM!

CLASSY. recruited popular Japanese model Koizumi Satoko to work with 2PM on a special short story for their magazine. For the story, Koizumi Satoko will dress up as an employee of a big record company (CLASSY. RECORDS) and will handle 2PM’s arrival and promotions in Japan. The story and pictorial will be featured in CLASSY.’s October edition, slated for release on August 27th as well as on the campaing site.

The campaign site will feature all of the 2PM members and recommend matching Banana Republic clothes for women this fall. In addition to pictures, it will also have various content including a special making movie with the cast.

The campaign site will be open to the public until September 30th.

Taecyeon laments his busy schedule

2PM’s Taecyeon reported his well-being through Twitter.

Taecyeon posted via his Twitter recently, “It has been more than 13 hours since we’ve gathered at the office building… Catching up on practice for the concert is like catching up on summer vacation homework”.

PD Kim Hyung Joon then asked Taecyeon, “How’s your time look like over the weekend?”, to which he replied, “My schedule’s filled until January of 2013″.

Netizens commented, “2013 must be a typo”, “Such a popular person”, “Take care of your health, though”, “Fighting Taecyeon!”, “I hope you don’t strain your self”.

In related news, Taecyeon recently worried his fans by appearing on JYP Nation with crutches.

After releasing their second Japanese single “I’m Your Man” last week, 2PM is ready to kick off their promotions with a confirmed appearance on this week’s episode of Japan’s ‘Music Station‘!

Asahi TV’s ‘Music Station’ is known for its being top-notch in quality. Running for its 25th year this year, the show features only the most popular artists each week in a live performance format. Since it’s also aired during a ‘golden time slot’, singers are always hoping to land a slot in its performance line-up.

2PM will be bringing their wild charisma to the ‘Music Station’ stage in sleek suits, where they’ll be performing their ‘necktie dance’ on August 26th. The boys will continue their stay in Japan by appearing in other programs like ‘Happy Music‘, ‘Monthly Melodix‘, and ‘Music Japan‘.

Hong Suk Chun reveals that 2PM’s Junho rejected his offer of friendship

Actor Hong Suk Chun, one of the few openly gay celebrities in Korea, recently guested on QTV’s ‘A Woman Who Ranks‘ as the close friend of Ahn Sun Young.

On the show, MC Lee Hwi Jae asked him if his friendship was ever rejected, to which he revealed, “I was rejected by 2PM’s Junho.”

Hong explained that he had asked Junho if he would like a friendly hyung/dongseng relationship. Junho had unfortunately replied, “Hyung, I think that will be a bit difficult.” Lee Hwi Jae asked, “Are you interested in guys who have eye smiles like Junho?”

Ahn Sun Young answered for him by saying, “Hong’s ex-lover of many years looked a lot like Junho.”

Khuntoria couple working in the Maldives on We Got Married

On an episode of MBC’s We Got Married that aired on the 27th, the Khuntoria couple were given a mission to work as volunteers for the weekend in the Maldives, thwarting their plans for the perfect weekend getaway.

f(x)’s Victoria could not hide her disappointment as she told interviewers, “I don’t think I can speak to the guests in English- I’m too embarrassed! I brought so many cute shoes and outfits to wear, but looks like the only thing I’ll get to wear all weekend is my uniform.”

Wanting to uplift his wife’s spirits, 2PM’s Nichkhun confidently tells her that he would personally take care of everything, and lifted her up with a hug.

Even during the power-walking segment, he remembered to take care of Victoria while cheerfully working to aid the guests from England.

His hard work paid off, as Victoria’s good mood returned. She enjoyed working as a bartender on the sail boat and remarked, “This is so me! It’s something I’ve always wanted to try“, and she seemed to be really enjoying herself.

On the same episode, T-ara’s Eun Jung expresses her jealousy as she watched her husband’s on-air love scene, and Lee Jang Woo transforms into a DJ as a way to make her feel better.

Junho publicizes his song, ‘Give it to Me’ on 2PM Show

On the August 27th episode of SBS E!TV’s ‘2PM Show‘, member Junho decided to use the show as an opportunity to publicize “Give It To Me“, a song on their 2nd full-length album, which he composed himself.

The boys played a game on the show to see how well they worked together as a team. All six of them needed to write down the exact same answers to the questions they were being asked. If even one person wrote down a different answer, they would all fail.

The members all tried to give each other hints on the answers based on their memories and things they experienced together. They were confident they would be able to succeed, but alas it was not an easy challenge.

When asked, “Which 2PM song do you guys feel most attached to?”, the members all looked at each other and carefully wrote down their answers, and one by one revealed them to one another.

The set exploded into a sea of laughter as Junho revealed his answer. He had written “Give It To Me” in big, confident letters. The members couldn’t stop laughing and asked him why he would try to publicize his own song on the show. But the ‘ambitious’ Junho disregarded their mockery and honestly told them that it was a song he had written, so obviously he feels most attached to that one.

Jay Park donates $21,000 worth of goods to the disabled

KOSAD (Korea Sports Association for the Disabled) president Seok Yong Yoon opened a special event on August 29th to celebrate the upcoming 2012 London paralympics which will be held in 365 days.

Singer Jay Park was appointed as honorary ambassador for KOSAD in 2010 and acts like a trusted big brother to many of the disabled youths. It’s been reported that he donated supportive supplies and food which valued around $21,000 for the paralympic athletes, and also sent a supportive video message at the event.

It’s good to see Jay Park helping out those in need. The following footage is from August of 2010, when he was first appointed honorary ambassador for KOSAD:

On August 29th, the photos were released through an online community board while he was in the middle of participating in a shoot for Dankook University as a campaign model.

2PM’s Taecyeon reveals his gentlemanly manners in Japan

2PM’s Taecyeon was recently praised for his gentlemanly manners when the group met with Japanese idol group, Perfume, during the “K-pop Artist” special on NHK’s “Music Japan” on August 28th.

After their performance of “I’m Your Man” that night, 2PM headed over to their waiting room and had a small chat with three members of Perfume. Before the start of their conversation, however, Taecyeon realized that member Omoto Ayano would’ve felt uncomfortable in her seat due to her exposing shorts, and so he took off his jacket and placed it over her legs.

The members of Perfume were absolutely taken aback by Taecyeon’s act of kindness, and all Omoto Ayano could do was smile shyly and say, “How considerate of you”, and “Thank you”.

After Taecyeon’s quick glance at the other 2PM members, Chansung and Wooyoung abruptly followed suit. The girls of Perfume laughed as they replied, “You guys are really considerate, thank you.”

Wooyoung and Suzy to make cameo appearances on new drama

2PM’s Wooyoung and miss A’s Suzy will be making cameo appearances in the new KBS Drama Special, ‘Human Casino‘.

The pilot episode airs on September 18th, and the two idol stars will be playing the role of a couple caught up in gambling scandals.

The two are good friends with the PD of ‘Human Casino’, who also produced the KBS 2TV series ‘High Kick‘. Their scenes will not be a part of the actual drama, but will rather be featured towards the end with the rolling credits.

Kim PD stated, “I told these two that I was starting a new project and they told me they wanted to visit, so I thought of giving them a small cameo role.”

Along with Wooyoung and Suzy, actor Kim Jung Tae will possibly be making an appearance as well.

‘Human Casino’ is the story of an engaged woman who is reportedly found missing, and her fiance believes she has been kidnapped. He later finds out she is caught up in a risky situation with gamblers that use human lives as their stakes.

‘Real 2PM’ shares a documentary from the perspective of Chansung’s cat

For this week’s episode of ‘Real 2PM‘, the boys released a video of a skit that they had previously shown in an official fanmeeting earlier this year.

Titled “A man living together with 2PM, the story of great warmth“, 2AM’s Jinwoon narrated the story of 2PM’s daily life from the perspective of Jeongnam, Chansung’s cat.

Jeongnam tours 2PM’s practice rooms, workout rooms, and various other offices at the JYP Entertainment headquarters. He gives his own opinions on each of the members, in addition to showing their diligent efforts in practicing at night.

88 idols rank 2PM’s Nichkhun & T-ara’s Jiyeon as the best-looking idols in real life

MBC Every1’s ‘Weekly Idol‘ recently had 88 idols participate in a survey asking which idol star was the best looking in real life for their ‘Real Chart!‘ corner.

The corner was centered around the question, “Real Chart! Idol Self Ranking – Who looks the best in real life! The top five best-looking male and female stars!”

Idols who managed to land in the ranking included Super Junior’s Choi Si Won, SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong, Big Bang’s T.O.P., SNSD’s YoonA, miss A’s Suzy, 2PM’s Taecyeon and Nichkhun, and T-ara’s Jiyeon and Qri.

In the end, however, there could only be one winner, and it was 2PM’s Nichkhun and T-ara’s Jiyeon that came out on top for the male and female categories. Jiyeon was called up after the rankings were revealed, and she was recorded saying, “I don’t look as good on camera. I think I look similar to my TV image, but since I look better in real life, please come and see me!”

The full ranking will be revealed on September 3rd!

2PM’s confession about the Moon siblings being the most tiring guests on “2PM Show”

On the upcoming episode of the ‘2PM Show‘, the boys of 2PM will review some of their antics from the previous episodes.

Back on episode 5, which aired on August 6th, the three Moon siblings appeared as guests and played several games with the 2pm members. However, a good portion of their interactions wasn’t aired on television.

2PM responded, “The recording with the three Moon siblings was definitely the most tiring. We don’t have a lot of childcare experience so it was hard to read their thoughts.”

Chansung added, “During the recording Maden would always wail when he saw my face so I felt sad & sorry.”

This episode will air on the 3rd at 11pm.

On the September 3 episode of ‘Immortal Song 2: Sing the Legend’, Jay Park did exactly what he did best during the first round — a bboy themed dance battle! Naturally Jay Park’s breakdancing moves attracted a lot of attention.

Jay Park excited the crowd by performing to Deux’s “Turn Around and Look At Me” with acrobatic movements including a back jump.

In an interview before he took stage, Jay Park confidently stated, “My own color, passion for music, and a powerful stage performance is what I want to show on ‘Immortal 2′, today I think I could do that.”

The other idol singers on ‘Immortal Song 2′ also choose Jay Parks performance as the most anticipated act on the show.

We’ll just have to wait for Saturday’s episode and see Jay Park’s moves for ourselves!

On September 2nd, Taecyeon tweeted, “It’s Wooyoung,” and uploaded a picture of his fellow 2PM member.

Wooyoung is seen doing the splits, thus showing off his flexibility on stage. Fans were amazed at discovering this secret ability from the star.

2PM’s newest CF for Thailand’s Eversense

Last year, it was Big Bang and Rania’s Joy taking part in a Thai CF for “Eversense”. Earlier in the year, Eversense inked an endorsement deal with 2PM and recently a new CF featuring the boys was released.

The new CF with 2PM endorses Eversense’s “Extra White Roll On” deodorant and uses their hit single “Hands Up” which fits well with the theme of the CF.
